The 2018 MLB All-Star game will no longer count for home-field advantage in the World Series, which essentially means that the All-Star game is an exhibition once again. The 2018 rosters were also downsized to 32 total players 12 pitchers and 20 position players. The Managers get to make the lineups but do not have control over the starters since they are voted in by the fans.
In the 2017 All-Star Game, Seattle Mariners Second Baseman Robinson Cano was the All-Star Game MVP, however, Cano cannot defend his title since he is injured as well as suspended. Bryce Harper is the hometown boy and many hope he will put on a show during the 2018 All-Star game in the nation’s capitol.
