The 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend is the 66th anniversary of the actual All-Star game. The weekend takes over a city for about four days and becomes a celebration of the NBA’s best and brightest around the league. Everyone arrives on Thursday and starting Friday; the events start flowing.
Friday night events started off with the 2017 NBA All-Star Celebrity game. ESPN’s Michael Smith and Jemele Hill were coaches and stars like Jason ‘White Chocolate’ Williams, Baron Davis, Nick Cannon, Master P, Romeo Miller, Ansel Elgort and many others took the court to participate in a pretty fun contest. But the star of the event was hands down Jarrius Robertson, a 14-year-old currently battling a liver disease and he had the moment of the evening.
The first night of NBA All-Star weekend culminated with the 2017 NBA Rising Stars Game. The best and brightest young talents in the NBA took center stage and faced off in a team world vs team USA setting. All eyes were on Kristaps Porzingis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Nikola Jokic and even the home favorite Buddy Hield but little-known young stars like Jonathon Simmons, Frank Kaminsky, and Rising Stars Challenge MVP Jamal Murray stole the show.
NBA All-Star Saturday night might have been one of the slower ones in recent memory but there was one moment that was the highlight of the whole weekend. The stars aligned when the NBA’s best and celebrities took the court to help raise money for the Sager Strong foundation.
The NBA All-Star game was another highlight factory with dunks and big plays galore. From the All-Star veterans like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook to the newer members of the All-Star team like Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeAndre Jordan, and Kyrie Irving, there was no shortage of fantastic plays on Sunday night. Oh yea, plus Anthony Davis set the NBA All-Star game scoring record on his way to winning the MVP award.
But the weekend that was wouldn’t be complete without a countdown of the top plays on the stage of national television. We usually get the best of the best on ESPN, TNT and NBATV every week so with the help of this tremendous app, ClippitTV, you too can capture your favorite highlights in an instant.
