‘Tis the season of the Grammy Awards. Taking place every year, and coming up on its 58th awards ceremony, it’s the time where the Grammy committee celebrates and highlights the wide range of music that was released during the past several months. With the eligibility period being from October 1, 2014 – September 30, 2015, all music that was released during that time-frame and was made available for purchase through retailers such as iTunes and/or physical retailers were eligible to be nominated for 2016’s upcoming ceremony. As noted, many have deemed 2015 to be the year of Hip-Hop as countless bodies of work have dropped and impacted the genre in some sort of fashion over the course of the past several months. The likes of J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and plenty of others have been the focus of much conversation as to who had the best Hip-Hop album of the year. Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars were easy guesses as to who dominated the Pop world this year and many others in between. Now, we finally have the nominations for the 58th Grammy Awards and without a doubt, there’s surely going to be some confusion/anger as to who was snubbed and/or deserved to be nominated and didn’t. Check out the Grammy award nominations, below, and see if your favorite artist made the cut. You can catch the list of all the nominations, here.
