Oklahoma City Point Guard Chris Paul, The Ringer’s Van Lathan, Revolt CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs and more than 100 Black men have signed a letter urging presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden to choose a Black woman as his running mate.
“Failing to select a Black woman in 2020 means you will lose the election,” the group writes.

“We don’t want to choose between the lesser of two evils and we don’t want to vote the devil we know versus the devil we don’t because we are tired of voting for devils — period,” the group adds.
Former Vice President Joe Biden is expected to announce who his running mate will be this week. Thus far, Biden has hinted that his running mate could be Sen. Tammy Duckworth, Sen. Kamala Harris, Rep. Val Demings, Susan Rice, Stacey Abrams or even Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms. While his short list consists of a number of Black women, his running mate could very well be Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Sen. Elizabeth Warren or Sen. Amy Klobuchar. The vice presidential nominee will speak to at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday.
