During a sitdown with Genius’ Rob Markman in Atlanta, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz discuss the album Collegrove. What’s more, is that the opening track of the LP, “Dedication,” was a tribute to Weezy. Dropping lines: “If it wasn’t for Wayne it wouldn’t be / A lot of dudes in the game, including me,” to start the song, Tity Boi goes on with commemorative bars catered to the early stages of his friendship with Wayne.
“I didn’t know he was doing it,” said Wayne.
While listening to the song in the car with a lady friend and his security, Tunechi had the driver pull the car over and had the exit the vehicle. Bizarre, we know, however, he was so touched by the record that tears started rolling down his face.
“I had to make them get out after I started listening to what the lyrics was about. Obviously, I already tattooed some [tears] on my face, but that song made a few more drop.”
