At this point of his illustrious career, Justin Timberlake easily finds himself being a household name, whether he likes it or not. Through his contributions to taking over the late 90s and early 2000s with his N’SYNC group mates, from building on that momentum for a highly successful solo career, Justin Timberlake finds himself currently being one of the music industry’s most respected acts. Taking a lengthy break and returning to the scene in 2013 with his most recent albums, The 20/20 Experience & The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, it appears that Justin has his eyes set on a new venture that will see his original music content being featured. As announced by The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Timberlake will find himself executive producing music for Dreamworks upcoming film, “Trolls.”
Timberlake, who has notched 16 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, will serve as executive music producer for Trolls, overseeing the creative direction for the film’s music as well as performing several songs on the soundtrack. He’s also voicing the character Branch, a hilariously hardcore survivalist who hides his surprising true colors.
Hollywood isn’t a stranger to Justin as he’s notched a few films under his belt. Serving as a first for Justin is his executive producer role for the film’s music. It’ll be interesting to see if Justin’s pen can craft gems that will be implanted in the brains of plenty of kids and adults that will take to theaters across the world in support of the movie. Who knows? This could be a source of inspiration that will see Justin release a new album of his own in the future. For now, we’ll simply wait and see what the cards hold for the singer’s “Trolls” contributions.
