Alimpijevic signed a three-year deal with the club and brings over much of the same staff that helped him lead FMP Beograd to the league finals last season. “I am satisfied to have the same staff who were with me in FMP – Slobodan Ljubotina, fitness trainer Aleksandar Jovancevic, as well as Milenko Topic, who will help us with his vast experience,” Alimpijevic told Euroleague media.
He’s also well aware of the pressure and expectations of coaching a club like Crvena Zvezda. “We know which our goals are. We know that Zvezda must win. Therefore, we will thinking in that direction,” Alimpijevic said.
The young coach is ambitious and will definitely start recruiting as soon as possible now that club has received buyout money on a few players from last season. He’s got basically an entire roster to fill, which means he’ll be able to assemble his own team in his first season.
