It’s all about Ariana Grande and it’s for an important reason. In less than 24 hours, the singer will see the release of her highly anticipated studio album, Dangerous Woman. Spending the past month and prior weeks putting the focus on the music and treating fans to plenty of surprises along the way, Ariana isn’t playing around with what many expect to be her best studio album to date. Next up in a lengthy amount of promo that the singer has already tackled, Ariana covers Billboard and talks everything from the media needing to give fair treatment to women vs. their male counterparts, to her impending new album. Displaying her feminist side, check out what the singer had to say to Billboard.
“Do you want to see something I saved to my phone because it upset me so much?” she asks me. It’s a collection of tweets from a U.K. radio station with a salacious streak — two praise Justin Bieber and Zayn Malikfor showing skin, and two scold Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian for the same. “If you’re going to rave about how sexy a male artist looks with his shirt off,” says Grande, “and a woman decides to get in her panties or show her boobies for a photo shoot, she needs to be treated with the same awe and admiration. I will say it until I’m an old-ass lady with my tits out at Whole Foods. I’ll be in the produce aisle, naked at 95, with a sensible ponytail, one strand of hair left on my head and a Chanel bow. Mark my words. See you there with my 95 dogs.”
There’s no doubt that Ariana Grande is riding the high waves of success at the moment. With so much more in store, it looks as if there’s no stopping the Pop star from pressing forward. Check out more from the cover spread and interview, here, and be sure to check back for her Dangerous Woman album.
