The early projections are in for Independence Day weekend box office performances. As expected, F9 is projected to lead the way with a three-day weekend performance of $24.1 million. If projections hold true, F9 would be expected to bring in $32.95 million over the four-day holiday weekend.
Following behind F9, Boss Baby: Family Business is expected to bring in $26.4 million during its first holiday weekend run at the box office. Also, The Forever Purge is expected to pull in just a touch more than $16 million during Independence Day Weekend.
Rounding out the top ten, A24’s Zola is currently screening in 1,468 theaters and is expected to pull in $1.7 million over the four-day holiday weekend. Meanwhile, Questlove’s directorial debut, Summer of Soul, is expected to rake in $830,000 over four days. It is also available on Hulu for in-home viewing, which can take away from box office sales.
#Zola grossed $445k on FRI and may be headed to around $1.7M for the long holiday wknd FRI-MON. Total #boxoffice since WED would reach about $2.5M from 1468 thtrs which is pretty wide for an indie film.
