Williamson hasn’t made his season debut with the team as he underwent surgery to repair a fracture in his right foot and has rehabbing since. At the beginning of December, he was expected to participate in his first full practice but soreness in his foot forced the team to dial back his recovery.
In his first seasons in the NBA, Williamson has dealt with several serious injuries. His rookie season started late due to a torn meniscus. For his second season, he played most of the games but had to be shut down at the end with a hand injury, and later the foot injury was announced.
The former No. 1 overall pick has played 85 games with the Pelicans and has averages of 25.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
Currently, the Pelicans are 14th in the Western Conference with a 9-21 record.
