Lifetime is on the hunt for another Aaliyah as Zendaya has reportedly dropped out of the film.
According to Zendaya’s rep, the singer is “no longer involved’ in the project. The news comes less that two weeks after her casting decision was made.
Production on the biopic titled ‘Aaliyah: Princess of R&B’ was slated to start this summer in order to be released in the fall. No word yet if the movie will be delayed.
The movie has undergone many setbacks including problems getting licensing for Aaliyah’s music and the late singers parents objecting to the film; instead wanting a feature film for theaters.
