
Memphis Grizzlies’ forward Zach Randolph and Cleveland Cavaliers’ guard Kyrie Irving have been named Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week.
Z-Bo averaged 20.5 points and 13.8 rebounds in four games, all Memphis victories. Randolph had a double-double in every game, extending his streak to 12 straight games with a double-double.
Irving led the Cavs to a 4-0 week by averaging 31.5 points on 51.2% shooitng from three-point range. On January 28th, with Lebron James sitting out, Irving had his best performance on the season in a 99-94 win over Portland. The All-Star point guard shot 11-19 from three-point range and finished with 55 points.
After a tough start to the season at 19-20, the Cavs have won ten-straight games and are one of the hottest teams in the league.
Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Atlanta’s Paul Millsap, Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, Miami’s emerging big man Hassan Whiteside, New York’s Caremlo Anthony, Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge, and Toronto’s Lou Williams.
