With all these predictions flowing in before the season starts, we always talk about the Western Conference. We talk about Golden State and wondering if they’ll repeat. San Antonio and OKC as the main chasers. Houston and LA, will they actually not choke this time? (the Clips forever will)
Saying that, who are we missing out? The Memphis Grizzlies of course! They’re always there in the mix but we never give them the time of day. Well Zach Randolph thinks it’s their time to shine.
“It’s time to win,” Randolph said. “I think the mature … guys are better. Mike got so much better. Of course Marc (Gasol), and our team’s so mature I think this is the time for us.”
“We think we’ve got a good mix of young and old and we’re a team that was pretty close last year, so we’re hoping to kick the door down this year,” general manager Chris Wallace said.
I never know where to put the Grizzlies, they have a big 3 of sorts there, they got Tony Allen as always, and they look like they would be a great Playoff team, but I can’t help thinking that Western Conference Finals appearance a few years ago was a fluke. Guess they have to prove me wrong.
