The 2016 NBA Slam Dunk Champion didn’t earn his crown easily this past February at NBA All-Star Weekend in Toronto. Zach LaVine battled it out with Aaron Gordon in a contest that Gordon could have easily won.
LaVine isn’t taking his victory for granted, as he will be donating $10,000 of his winnings to Metro Deaf School in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Giving back is easy to talk about, and plenty of NBA players do a fantastic job of doing work in their communities. LaVine’s gesture shows the genuine nature of professional athletes, which is such an encouraging example for youngsters coming up dreaming of being the NBA Slam Dunk Champion one day.
