The praised penman behind 22 Jump Street, Rodney Rotham, is in the director’s chair for the first time on this upcoming astronaut comedy film starring Zach Galifianakis, Seth Rogen, and Bill Hader. Although the movie hasn’t yet been given a title (apart from being referred to as “The Something”), it has just gotten a release date. Universal will launch the movie May 26, 2017, where it will compete at the Memorial Day box office against the fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The R-rated comedy was announced about a month ago. According to Variety, the film will follow three astronauts who happen upon a mysterious space craft, only to learn that they “are not equipped to represent humankind in a battle of intelligent life.”
Rotham is also producing the film, along with Rogen, James Weaver, and Evan Goldberg. Rogen, Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover films), and Bill Hader (Trainwreck) will star.
