Shannon Stillwell was reportedly stabbed in Fulton County Jail on Monday, December 11. Shortly thereafter, Stillwell was transported to a nearby medical facility. The extent of Stillwell’s injuries remains unclear, but a report from WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia indicates that he is in “extremely critical” condition.
Stillwell, alongside Jeffrey “Young Thug” Williams, is one of more than two dozen defendants included in a high-profile lawsuit brought forth by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. He currently faces seven charges, including murder, participation in criminal street gang activity and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Stillwell’s medical condition has compelled Judge Ural Glanville to suspend the trial proceedings until at least Tuesday, December.
“We had a medical issue come up with one of our participants. So we’re going to recess for the day,” Glanville told the courtroom on Monday, December 11.
Journalist Meghann Cuniff adds that Stillwell’s condition may delay courtroom proceedings indefinitely as he is a key component of the ongoing trial.
“They’re back tomorrow morning, but if Stillwell is as injured as reports say, the future of this trial is unknown,” Cuniff added.
