Young Thug has definitely had an eventful few days. On Friday, Young Thug released his latest project, Slime Language. With features from Lil’ Uzi Vert, Gunna and more, the project debuted to positive feedback from most. On the same day that his project was released, he was arrested for gun possession at his album release party. Thankfully, the Atlanta native was released soon thereafter on bail. Since then, Young Thug has been fairly quiet and last night, he earned a Video Music Award for his contributions toward Camila Cabello’s “Havana”.
In celebration of his Video Music Award win, Young Thug has released a remix to his record, “Rocket Man”. The song pays homage to the original made by Young Thug fan himself, Elton John. The remix features vocal samples from the original as well as a few piano chords from the Elton John classic. As described by a member of Thug’s camp, the song is ” really ambient and amazing… It’s all the instrumental, the guitar, piano; and Thug is not rapping, he’s singing.” If you’re interested in hearing Thug pay homage to the legend, Elton John, feel free to stream the song here.
