Yes, you did read that headline correctly. The rapper formerly known as Young Thug has asked that fans, media, and confidants alike now refer to him as “Sex”. The Atlanta native who is known to be one of the more unique acts in music took to Twitter to announce his name change.
I’m changing my name to SEX….

For now on call me SEX!!!

While the 300 signee was pretty emphatic that fans now call him “Sex”, it should be noted that these tweets hit the streets at about 1:05 a.m. While it is very possible that Sex is serious about this new moniker, it is also possible that his tweets could have been the result of a number of activities done at 1 a.m. or substances consumed at 1 a.m. For the time being, fans can call him Sex.
This would not be the first time in recent memory that a rapper has asked that the world refer to them by something other than what the public initially knew them as. Over the past two months, Diddy has asked that the world refer to him as “Love” or “Brother Love”. Actor, TV host and rapper, Bow Wow, has asked that the world refer to him by his legal name of Shad Moss. Most notably, no one can forget the classic Breakfast Club interview in which neo-soul legend, Musiq Soulchild, demanded that the world call him “The Husel”.
Musically, Sex has stayed busy over the past month with records like “Trippple Cross” featuring Future and “Ride With Me” featuring A-Trak.
