The ongoing tension between Atlanta rappers Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane has reached new levels with the release of Young Jeezy’s “24, 23.” On the track Young Jeezy makes several references to both Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman.
“They say the club is off the chain/ I’m on my Louis shit today, fuck some Gucci Mane/ These niggas still on my dick, they like some groupies, mane…They said the club is off the chain, straights shot to the head/ Fuck some Juice mane/ Ask the real niggas in the city, who got the juice man,” Young Jeezy raps.
Gucci Mane recently shared his thoughts on “24, 23” in a radio interview with HOT 97 personality Miss Info. In the interview Gucci Mane explains that he has no plans on releasing a diss track anytime soon.
“I like attention,” Gucci Mane explained to Miss Info. “I must be doing something right if I got people doing songs about me…I called [OJ] last night…He asked me what I thought about, and I told him I thought it was alright, and he thought it was okay too…Not even that it’s okay, I just got so many other big things going on right now…I don’t think [I’ll respond]. I’ll just give him hell by goin’ hard.”
In 2005, Gucci and Young Jeezy both released diss tracks going after one another after a collaboration between the two rappers went awry. The record “So Icy” was supposed to be included on Young Jeezy’s solo album but allegedly the use of the song wasn’t okay’d by Gucci Mane.
All three rappers (Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, and OJ Da Juiceman) will be performing at Atlanta’s Birthday Bash 14 taking place Saturday, June 20.
