This past year has been incredible for Young Dolph. Last December, Young Dolph dropped off his album, Thinking Out Loud. Complete with features from Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and more, Dolph’s most recent album climbed into the top ten on Hip-Hop and R&B Billboard charts. Two months later, Dolph came back with a new project called N*ggas Get Shot Everyday. Most recently, Dolph made headlines for his move to EMPIRE.
After being offered multiple deals, Dolph landed on a multi-million dollar partnership with EMPIRE this month. After announcing the deal, Dolph said, “The deals I was being offered, I can’t lie, they were good. Not only is this still a multi-million dollar deal, but I can keep my masters and get a bigger percentage.” Dolph added, “This is a big deal because it’s linking the biggest independent artist and label with the biggest distribution company.”
Shortly after announcing the deal, the Memphis native told fans that a new album was on the way. Today, his newest project is here and ready to go. Role Model comes complete with fourteen tracks and collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Offset and Kash Doll. When asked about the title of the project, Dolph said, “A role model is someone you can look to for guidance in certain areas. I’m a role model for this independent shit and I want all these young black kids to be inspired to get a hustle where they can own their own sh*t and create something with their own minds and creativity and become even better at it than their role model.”
