There’s not much left in the music industry for Yolanda Adams to accomplish. In her long career, she’s earned five GRAMMYs, seven NAACP Image Awards and five BET Awards. Not to mention, Billboard named Adams the best gospel artist of the decade in 2009. Given all that she has accomplished, it’s hard to believe that today she entered into new territory.
Prior to today’s kickoff, Adams delivered a Super Bowl performance for the first time. Backed by The Children’s Voice Chorus, Adams delivered a stunning performance of “America, The Beautiful.”
“Oh beautiful for spacious skies/For amber waves of grain/For purple mountain majesty/Above the fruited plain,” she sang.
Before performing in front of millions on FOX, Adams performed alongside Le’Andria Johnson at the 2020 Super Bowl Gospel Celebration.
Check out clips of both of her performances above. Also, be sure to stay locked in for more commercials and the Super Bowl LIV halftime show.
