Friday, May 3, 2024 is day that many fans will not quickly forget. Just after the clock struck midnight, Drake released “Family Matters,” a diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky and several others. Moments later, Lamar seemingly replied to Lamar with another diss track of his own called “Meet The Grahams.” While most were focused at the shots fired throughout high-profile feud, others were interested in how others, including YG, were roped into the back-and-forth throughout the opening verse of “Family Matters.”
“You know who really bang a set? My n—a YG. You know who really bang a set? My n—a Chuck T. You know who even bang a set out there is CB,” Drake raps.
Weeks later, YG released a song called “Weird.” Fans quickly jumped to end of the first verse, speculating the California native was firing shots at Drake.
“When it’s smoke, don’t ever mention my name (Mention my name)/You gon’ have me jeapoardizin’ my fame/Jeapoardizin’ the gang, jeapoardizin’ where you hang, n—a,” YG raps.
However, YG quickly responded to the rumors when asked.
“Kap,” he simply responded when asked if he was taking a shot at his former collaborator.
Drake and YG have worked together several times throughout their career to produce tracks like “Why You Always Hatin?” and “Who Do You Love?” Meanwhile, YG has worked with Kendrick Lamar on the past for his debut album, My Krazy Life.
