YG has released his latest album, My Life 4Hunnid. The project serves as the follow-up to 2019’s 4Real 4Real. This time around, he brings in Lil’ Wayne, Tyga, Chris Brown, Lil’ Tjay, Ty Dolla $ign and Gunna. My Life 4Hunnid also featuring the singles, “Swag,” “FTP” and “Out On Bail.”
Much of the album touches on police brutality, losing Nipsey Hussle and his life over the past 18 months. The California native has also mentioned that parts of his new project were inspired by Tupac. The fourth song of the album even shares the same title as a Tupac classic record.
“He went through a lot of the stuff that I’m dealing with right now, and he was making records about it, and just the tone and the cadence of how he was coming up,” he told Zane Lowe.
“So that’s a fact, that’s a fun fact.”
While much of the album does touch on more personal aspects of his life, records like “Blood Walk” with Lil’ Wayne and “Rodeo” with Chris Brown still offer the same club feel that he is known to deliver.
“Show your freaky side, from behind on all fours/Be my appetite, you make me want more/I know you like, joyridin’ on me/Girl don’t be shy, joyride on me, yeah, yeah,” Chris Brown sings over the DJ Swish production.
