Yelp has partnered with GoFundMe to support local businesses suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this partnership, Yelp will insert a “donate” button on each business’s profile. In addition, Yelp will match up to $1 million in donations. For each donation of $500, they will match each donation.
Yelp has reported that consumer interest in small businesses such as restaurants has fallen 67% in recent weeks. In addition, they have reported that consumer interest in breweries has fallen by 85% during the pandemic.
“In addition to our recently announced relief for local businesses, this is another piece of our larger effort to respond to the widespread impact of this pandemic, and we’re continuing to explore different ways to address the challenges faced by our community,” Yelp stated.
Alongside its partnership with Yelp, GoFundMe has partnered with Intuit QuickBooks to support small businesses and their employees.
