YBN Cordae is back with new music and a new video for his latest track, “Fighting Temptations”. Rapping over a traditional soul sample and drum kits, YBN Cordae’s new video features him going through a normal day in the life of a young rapper.
YBN floats through the first verse by rapping, “I came from the gutter, the bottom/The f*ckd up, The problem/There’s always trouble in Gotham/If you stutter, they’ll rob you/We catch the shuttle to Harlem.” Later on YBN Cordae talks about his upbringing when he raps, “I done lost some little homies, couple cousins, it’s crazy/My little brother straight busin’, now he stuck with a baby/And he like ‘f*ck it, it’s gravy’/It’s just another occasion/With some luck I’ma save him/But sh*t, he stuck on probation.” YBN Cordae ends the record with a bold statement. YBN Cordae emphatically says, “God gave Lebron height and blessed me with the pen. I’m a real n*gga, but best of all I’m a leader of men.”
YBN Cordae’s “Fighting Temptation” is rumored to be on an upcoming YBN collaboration tape. Alongside YBN Cordae, YBN Nahmir has recently reached success by being named a member of the 2018 XXL Freshman List. Still riding the success of his remix of J. Cole’s “1985”, it will be interesting to see if YBN Cordae will be on the XXL Freshman List next year. For now, we can all enjoy his “Fighting Temptations” video above.
