As the 2015 NBA Draft is inching closer and closer, teams are still narrowing in on who they are going to take with their pick. With the 19th selection, the Wizards are poised to select the best player available rather than somebody who may fill a specific need for the team.
Following From Washington Post.
“We’re going best player available. I think that’s the way you have to go,” Grunfeld said in a telephone interview Wednesday.
The Wizards don’t necessarily have a huge need at any specific position, which could be influencing their choice to go with the best player available. The starting lineup next season won’t see much change unless Paul Pierce bolts town, and even then, Otto Porter would likely slide right in as the starter at small forward.
It’s hard to guess who will be available once the 19th pick rolls around, but with all of the different options the Wizards have hosted at their pre-draft workouts, they seem to be prepared for anything. The team has a good feel on who would fit well into the system, and some of the players who are talented enough to be 19th pick.
For now, it seems Wizards fans across the world will have to wait and see who is there when the pick comes up.
