Every move being made by the Wizards seems to in one way or another have to do with Kevin Durant, and building a new practice facility is just another topic to add to the list. The organization is considering building the facility on the former site of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, which is just 7 miles from Durant’s hometown of Seat Pleasant.
Obviously, the training facility is not going to be the only factor in a free agent choosing to sign with a team, but it’s always a plus to put on the list.
Being in such close proximity to home would be great for a guy like Durant, who has shown he is always willing to be involved in the community.
After Oklahoma City‘s tornado in 2013, Durant was always seen out trying to help put the community back together. Being so close to his own home could make an easy trip for the Thunder star to help his hometown make some much-needed improvements.
All of the little moves being made by the Wizards organization to lure Kevin Durant back to DC are adding up, and could prove to be successful in the Summer of 2016. The speculation will continue until a new deal is signed. Until then, we all wait.
