Washington Wizards aren’t completely going to stay silent during the trade deadline process. While their team seems to be set, it is a tad bit old currently, primarily at the reserve point guard position.
It seems like Washington may be finding a potential trade partner to get a younger option at the reserve point guard spot and they will stay in their own division, calling the Miami Heat about the availability of Norris Cole.

The Washington Wizards have pursued Miami guard Norris Cole, but Heat's price has been difficult to match, league sources tell RealGM.

Wizards current backup point guard is Andre Miller. While Miller is a proven leader and has tremendous veteran leadership, he’s not the only guy on the team that is a veteran. There are in fact 7 players on the team that are 30+ years old, and 3 guys who are older than 35. In the long run, the tread on those tires might run thin, so if you’re going from fast paced, up-tempo and athletic John Wall to a slowed and steadied Andre Miller who will completely change the pace from 100-0, that might affect the team and how they play for the remainder of the season.
Getting Cole in changes the pace of the game and increases the intensity. Plus, with Cole, you can have him play alongside Wall, much like the Heat have done from time to time with Cole and Mario Chalmers. Besides that, at only 26 years old, he already has 2 NBA Championships under his belt, along with 60 career playoff games, 49 more games than John Wall has played.
If i’m the Wizards and I can talk Pat Riley down to a more reasonable offer, I absolutely do the deal to bring in Cole.
