When the Wizards and Hawks face off tonight at the Verizon Center, not much can come out of a win for either team. The Wizards are currently 2.5 games back of the Bulls for the fourth seed and they only have three games left. On the other hand, the Hawks clinched the first seed a long time ago, so this game really is pointless to them other than bringing money into the stadium.
The Wizards will have John Wall back tonight from a two game break and surely will benefit from his return. The Wizards got blown out in a loss to Brooklyn on Friday night, and Wall will look to get the Wizards back on track as the regular season is coming to a close.
Randy Wittman stated that everybody will be available except for Garrett Temple, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury. Getting everybody back will help the Wizards get ready for the playoffs as the team gets back together to build up some more chemistry. With everybody back, Wittman will have the opportunity to get his rotation ready for the playoffs.
The game may mean absolutely nothing, but what can come out of the game is pride. The Wizards have had a fantastic season up to this point and a win tonight could put the icing on the cake to end the regular season. Tonight they can make a statement, and prove they can compete with any of the other teams in the league.
