Martell Webster only appeared in 32 games last season for the Washington Wizards and his 2015-16 season didn’t get off to a great start either. It appears that Webster’s season will end before it begins in an eerily similar way that Denver Nuggets wingman Wilson Chandler’s season ended. A hip surgery will put Webster on the shelf.

…Webster has decided to go the other route. He will undergo surgery Friday in Nashville, Tenn. and expects to be sidelined 4-6 months.
“We tried everything else and I just wasn’t getting the results that I wanted,” Webster said. “So I wanted to go out and get it taken care of rather than playing this season in some discomfort and then wait until the offseason to get it taken care of and then rehab the whole offseason and then try to find a rhythm come training camp. I’d rather take care of it now.”
“Hell no,” Webster said when asked if it could be a career-ending operation. “I hope not. Doc said 85 percent chance [of returning]. I’ll take that.”
Webster is only 28 years old so his career coming to an end would be shocking but his injury history isn’t the greatest. He once had three back surgeries in four years ending in the summer of 2014. Last season appeared promising for Webster but nothing came out of it. This season without Paul Pierce, he was expected to play an increased role but it will not work out in his favor.
