After going up 2-0 while winning both games taking place in Toronto, the series is now moving to DC where the Wizards will have an opportunity to pull off a sweep in the playoffs. They were 29-12 at home this season, and will have a crowd excited to see this team try to grind out some more wins. Washington has a oppotunity to clinch the series in front of their home fans, and will try to make sure they do no have to go through customs again in Toronto.
The problem with Washington has been more obvious in the first two games than it had been all season. They really struggle to finish games, and blow leads when they get too comfortable with what they have already done throughout the game. Since they know this is going to happen, Randy Wittman needs to either play his starters for longer even after they grab a large lead, or build on the lead more in anticipation of the team blowing he lead.
The improvements from last season to this season have been obvious due to Paul Pierce being entered into the picture. Pierce brings a lot of experience and has been teaching the young team how to win the right way. There is no more coming out without believing they will win. Every game, the Wizards bring the swagger to show everybody they believe they will win every single time they go out to play.
The key is still going to be Nene and Marcin Gortat figuring out how to both have big performances on the same night. Nene played better in Game 1, while Marcin Gortat played better than Nene in Game 2. If they can figure out to play at peak performance on the same night, they will not lose another game in the playoffs.
Game 3 is going to be a very tough game because of the importance of winning it for both teams. If Washington is able to get the win, they will be in full control of the series while Toronto will possibly give in. If Toronto is unable to win tomorrow, their season could be over.
