The Washington Wizards and the San Antonio Spurs faced off on Tuesday night’s action, after the Spurs beat them on January 3rd. Tonight was the Washington Wizards night absolutely, as they dominated for most of this game. John Wall scored 25 points and added 8 assists to control the game and lead the Wizards to a 101-93 win. Kevan Seraphin added 17 points off the bench to help the Wizards. The Spurs had 5 players in double digits but it didn’t really help much.
Analysis: The Washington Wizards have been steadily improving on all ends and the San Antonio Spurs have been taking an extreme downward spiral. It is evident that the absence of Kawhi Leonard is really hurting the Spurs and their progression, they are simply not the same team. Is it too early to worry? OF COURSE. This is a Gregg Popovich team and a Gregg Popovich team is always a threat, especially a rested team. Austin Daye and other role players have been getting a lot more minutes, which means more rest for the lead players on this Spurs team.
