Well. At least they’ve learnt from their first mistake.
Earlier in the week, Kevin Durant slated the Washington Wizards because they went over the top with their methods of getting his attention. They obviously didn’t realise that Kevin Durant is naturally a Low-key guy and isn’t a fan of the OTT stuff. Putting him on the jumbo tron with DC gear on? Not his cup of tea.
So, the Wizards are actually thinking about it this time and will plan a more simple and low key pitch.
Washington’s pursuit of Durant will be low-key and simple, a person familiar with the team’s outlook told Sporting News. Durant is not a bells-and-whistles type, and the Wizards seem to think that the lure of home and the presence of young stars Beal and John Wall, along with a new practice facility, will be enough to persuade Durant to come to Washington.
Now that sounds better. I mean you probably won’t get KD but at least you’re trying. A for effort Washington!
There has never been a time where KD never felt comfortable in OKC. It’s quiet (in terms of media) and he is in a brotherhood environment. Washington is a lot more busy in terms of the media and judging by how Durant can lash out at the media, that doesn’t really bode well for the Wizards.
