The Wizards are having a pretty busy offseason, but unlike what was being reported earlier, they are not attempting to deal Nene. Marc Stein had reported Washington was trying to deal Nene to clear cap space so they could sign David West, but Marc J. Spears reported that to be untrue.
The Wizards are not actively shopping center Nene, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Keeping Nene is the best move for the Wizards. Since he was traded from Denver, the team has turned from one of the worst in the league to a team that has reached the Eastern Conference Semifinals for two straight seasons.
Even though Nene won’t be moving away from Washington anytime soon, the Wizards still have an opportunity to sign David West. The team still has some money left, and seems to be trying to do all they can to sign the former Pacer.
With Nene on the Wizards, they will still have solid chemistry that is going to carry over from last season. Keeping this team together is working, and as long as they all stay in Washington, it appears the Wizards will be ready for a postseason run next season.
