The Milwaukee Bucks will officially be staying in Milwaukee. After rumors that they were headed to Seattle, Las Vegas or even Montreal, the Bucks will be staying put in Wisconsin for the for-seen future. According to the Associated Press:
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker plans to sign a bill providing $250 million in taxpayer money to pay for a new Milwaukee Bucks stadium next week.
Walker’s office sent an invitation to lawmakers and others saying he plans to sign the bill Aug. 12 at State Fair Park outside Milwaukee.
The Legislature passed the arena bill on bipartisan votes in both the Senate and Assembly after team leaders threatened to leave Wisconsin if the deal did not get done.
The Bucks have been in constant re-negotiations to rebuild a new arena for the new and improved Milwaukee Bucks but they had been hesitant because of funding. With funding secure now, Milwaukee can look forward to build their new sporting complex. The Bucks and their young cast are looking to make a huge jump in the Eastern Conference with the addition of Greg Monroe and a healthy Jabari Parker.
