Murder is on the mind of everyone’s favorite childhood character. In the latest offering from director Rhys Frake-Waterfield, Winnie The Pooh taps in with his dark side and refuses to look back.
“In this violent new take on a childhood classic, beloved characters Pooh and Piglet turn wild and go on a brutal rampage after being abandoned by Christopher Robin,” the trailer’s description reads.
For many, utilizing Winnie The Pooh in this type of on-screen role can be pretty weird. While preemptively acknowledging the criticism that will be sent his way, Frake-Waterfield believes that he has created something that is uniquely captivating.
“When you try and do a film like this, and it’s a really wacky concept, it’s very easy to go down a route where nothing is scary and it’s just really ridiculous and really, like, stupid,” he told Variety.
“And we wanted to go between the two.”
Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey doesn’t have a release date yet, but the murderous slasher is expected to hit theaters before the end of the year. Check out the trailer below.
