Reed was jailed in August on charges of misdemeanor battery after an incident with his wife. Reed’s wife told police at the time he dragged her across the apartment and grabbed her, according to the police report.
Reed was sent to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, a prison located in South Miami, Florida. He was released at approximately 1:00 P.M.
“Willie is committed to his family, to improving as a person, and to working hard for a successful season for the Clippers,” Reed’s lawyers said, according to Winderman.
Reed signed with the Clippers this summer after a successful one-season stint with Miami, where he averaged 5.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 14.5 minutes in 71 contests.
Reed has appeared in five preseason games with the Clippers, scoring 25 points in total. He went undrafted in 2011 and later held stints in the D-League.
