Last week, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter took to Twitter to announce the long-awaited threequel, Bill & Ted Face the Music. Since then, fans of Bill & Ted have been clamoring for more details on the film without many updates.
Well, Monday finally saw something come out of the production. Orion Pictures tweeted that fan-favorite William Sadler will be reprising his role as Death.
For those who have been asking, @Wm_Sadler will totally be reprising his role! pic.twitter.com/jPDZyseotu

In the second entry, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, the titular heroes ran into Death after being killed by clones. Stuck in the afterlife, the two had to play board games with Death to win their freedom and get their lives back. In the end, they do beat him and the three actually go on to defeat the clones together.
Rumors of a third film in the Bill & Ted franchise have been swirling for most of the past decade and a half but it was mostly chalked up to wishful thinking. However, now that it is a reality, it seems to be on track to deliver what fans always wanted. Original Bill & Ted creators, Chris Matheson, and Ed Solomon wrote the script with Dean Parisot set to direct. Parisot is best known for directing the cult-hit Galaxy Quest.
Bill & Ted Face the Music is set to hit theaters on August 21, 2020.
