It sure looks that way. A company called Liquipel has produced a product that will make this possible. At this year’s CES a smartphone which was coated in Liquipel was tossed into a dish filled with water and worked fine. The coating itself is 1000 times thinner than human hair, which is pretty much invisible.
Right now you can get your phone coated for $59. The following phones are compatible with the water-proof sealant Apple iPhone 3G through 4S; Motorola Droid X and X2; HTC Evo 4G, Shift 4G, MyTouch 4G and Thunderbolt and Samsung Charge. Watch a demo below.
