For all serious and/or keen gamers, upcoming releases are crucial. While you’re busy enjoying the games currently owned, you’ve always got an eye on what’s to come. So, whether it’s the next Pokémon title for the Nintendo Switch or the next epic slot game at Royal Vegas online casino, the future and the releases to come are of immense importance.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
We begin our list of games dropping in 2020 with one of the most eagerly anticipated of all time. Final Fantasy 7 is a game most people will include in their greatest of all-time lists. The series itself was and remains hugely successful, but FF7 was special.
There have been plans in the pipeline to remake and rework the game. At E3 3019, it was confirmed by director Yoshinori Kitase that the first part of the game was ready to go in 2020. However, due to the size of the remake and how in-depth the adventure is, it’s going to be a case of FF7 hitting the shelves in parts.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing, like many other Nintendo based titles, has developed somewhat of a cult following. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is precisely that, as it the first genuine Animal Crossing title to release on the Nintendo Switch. It’s also taking a different approach by making the player start with nothing.
One thing you can say about Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and the titles in the series which have gone before it, is that longevity is their USP. You’ll be able to do more than ever, with more in-depth customization options than ever. The player is in complete control of their universe and what happens within.
The Last of Us Part 2
The Last of Us rightfully went down as one of the top games of all time. The story and characters involved were gripping and the excitement thrilling. Naughty Dog picked up awards for the game, but now they’re back to continue the story and take players on another epic journey.
It’s Ellie who is the lead character this time around, and while it may seem impossible to top the original, The Last of Us Part 2 is set to be even more brutal and harrowing. Naughty Dog has also brought in new characters, as well as improving the combat in the game. So, it’s a game not to miss out on in 2020.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel
On the Nintendo Switch, there is a lot of competition when it comes to being the top game, or the most popular. You have the likes of Animal Crossing, as mentioned above, Pokémon and Fire Emblem. However, another game series and title which can mix it with the best of them is The Legend of Zelda.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild immediately ranked as one of the best video games of all time, receiving critical acclaim around the world. And, 2020 could see the sequel hit the shelves. There’s even a suggestion that rather than play as Link, players will take control of Zelda. In what will be another massive release and potentially 2020’s most significant.
