The Denver Broncos season came to an end after losing to Andrew Luck and the Colts. Peyton Manning, had a miserable performance for Denver today which called for the unavoidable question. Has Manning played his final game in the NFL? Manning has one year remaining on his contract worth 19 million dollars. For right now Peyton has avoided any questions about his future.
“My mindset right now is just disappointment after (Sunday’s) game … I’m disappointed, I kind of need to process this game, we’ll meet (Monday), I’m disappointed I need to process this game,”.
It is unclear if Peyton feels that he can go through another grueling NFL season. If Manning does return he will likely want some incentive which could possibly include coaching staff changes or a say in personnel decisions. If number 18 does decide to hang up his cleats Brock Osweiler will get his shot to be the starting quarterback. Osweiler is a former 2nd round pick in 2012 from Arizona State. The 6’7″ quarterback has yet to take a snap in the league so far. Denver faces some difficult decisions ahead as Julius Thomas, Deymarius Thomas, and Wes Welker will become unrestricted free agents.
