Well isn’t that funny, the #1 and #2 pick of the 2014 NBA drafts come out on top in the first month of the rookie class’ first year in the NBA. Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Jabari Parker of the Milwaukee Bucks are Rookie’s of the Month for the Western and Eastern Conference, respectively. Wiggins averaged 12.8 months, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists, with 1 steal. Jabari Parker averaged 12.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.4 steals.
Both rookies are off to great starts in their NBA careers, and you would expect it. They haven’t exploded on the scene like a LeBron James or a Carmelo Anthony, but do not doubt that they similarities are there. Wiggins has been compared in athletic ability to LeBron, and Parker’s size and scoring ability has been similar to Melo at the start of his career. Within the next couple of months we will truly see them make names of themselves, they will both have really fun careers in the NBA by the way it looks.
