Beyoncé is often considered one of Hollywood’s role models. Due to her squeaky-clean image and political efforts (including those in support of Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign), it’s no surprise that she was recruited to sing the national anthem at Barack Obama’s second inaugural ceremony tomorrow.
However, there seems to be some Bey haters over at the white house as a petition was created to “disinvite” the singer from singing the anthem due to her recent partnership with PepsiCo. The claim was that this business venture contradicts her support of the “Let’s Move” campaign created by the First Lady which is supposed to discourage unhealthy habits (such as drinking soda).
Fortunately, this petition has since been removed from the White House’s We the People site and Beyoncé is still set to sing the national anthem tomorrow night.
