Now that May 12th is over teams can now sign any veteran free agents without it counting towards the compensatory pick system. For example the Detroit Lions will likely receive a 3rd round compensatory draft pick in 2016 for the loss of Ndamukong Suh. Now that the deadline has passed veteran free agents such as Chris Johnson, Wes Welker, and Michael Vick will have a better chance to find a new home. Where might some of the top remaining free agents land?
- Kyle Arrington
Arrington was recently released by the New England Patriots. One team who could be interested in their services are the Baltimore Ravens.
Harbaugh said the team is still looking for DBs, but “we could play a game right now if we had to. We don’t have glaring needs.”

GM Ozzie Newsome is still looking to add CBs. “We’re not done.” https://t.co/pyNplleAZJpic.twitter.com/tf9oyA0RQj

The Ravens may have beaten the Patriots in last years AFC Divisional game if it were for more cornerback depth. A healthy Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb and Kyle Arrington could provide a much improved unit. There are an abundance of teams who could be interested in them as cornerback depth is always a necessity in this league.
- Wes Welker
Welker did not have the greatest of seasons last year as he posted pedestrian numbers (282 yards, 0 touchdowns). Welker may have to wait for an injury during training camp as most teams do not have wide receiving depth issues. If a team were to suffer a serious injury to their wide receiving core look for teams to give Wes Welker a call. Ultimately he may decide to retire as Welker has suffered a number of concussion during his 12 year playing career.
- Chris Johnson
Johnson is a guy who may be suffering from his off the field incident back in March. Johnson was shot in the shoulder during drive-by shooting. Chris Johnson to the Cowboys? Johnson could be worth the look for Dallas as their current backfield consists of Darren McFadden, Ryan Williams, Joseph Randle, and Lance Dunbar.
- Michael Vick
Vick may have the toughest task in finding a job. The New England Patriots are one team that comes to mind after the suspension of Tom Brady. Matt Flynn and Tarvaris Jackson are the others that could interest New England.
