Third-year Duke player Wendell Moore Jr. has officially declared his desire to go pro and entered his name into the 2022 NBA Draft as he announced on his Instagram page.
“Words cannot express the honor and privilege it is to wear this Duke jersey alongside some of the greatest names in the history of college basketball,” said Moore on a press release. “As I announce my intention to enter the 2022 NBA Draft, I can only hope that I’ve done The Brotherhood proud. I’ve grown so much over the last three years – experienced highs and lows that will shape me for the rest of my life. It has truly been an honor to be a Blue Devil, and although I will miss those moments with my teammates, I will cherish them forever.”
In his third season with the Blue Devils, Moore stepped up to become one of the key players in the starting lineup, especially on the defensive end. He held opponents to just .355 from the field and .317 from three-point range as the primary defender which earned him a selection to the ACC All-Defensive Team.
With 13.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, Moore was also named to the All-ACC second team and was the winner of the Julius Erving Award, which is given to the top small forward in the nation.
Moore will join his teammates Mark Williams and Paolo Banchero in the NBA Draft.
