Welterweight contender Jaron Ennis will reportedly return to the ring in October to face Thomas Dulorme, a two-time world title challenger. The two were originally prepared to fight last year, but a positive COVID-19 test forced the fight out of the picture. Fortunately, an October 23 or an October 30 12-round event is now in the works.
Dulorme is coming off of a unanimous decision loss against Eimantas Stanionis. He also lost the previous fight against Jamal James by unanimous decision. In fact, Dulorme is 3-4-1 in his last eight fights after starting off his career with a 25-1 record.
Meanwhile, Ennis enters the fight with about as much buzz as any young fighter in boxing. He knocked out Sergey Lipinets in April and holds a record of 27 wins, zero losses and 25 knockouts. Along with Virgil Ortiz, Ennis appears to be on his way toward a welterweight title shot in 2022.
