WE tv has cancelled The Divide.
The drama was created by Scandal’s Tony Goldwyn and Richard LaGravenese.
The Divide, which ended its eight-episode run in August, explored morality, ambition, politics, ethics and race in today’s justice system, viewed through the eyes of a case worker and district attorney with opposing views.
“We are extremely proud of The Divide and grateful to its brilliant creators, Richard LaGravenese and Tony Goldwyn, and an amazing cast and crew, for bringing this story to life as WE tv’s first scripted series,” the network said in a statement issued Thursday.
The Divide was a big swing for WE tv. Originally developed for sibling network AMC, the project moved to WE tv once the network (home to Mad Men, The Walking Dead) passed.
The show starred Nia Long, Marin Ireland, Damon Gupton, Joe Anderson and Chris Bauer.
