Spike Lee just dropped the trailer for his latest Da Sweet Blood of Jesus.
The film made possible with the help of Kickstarter, is described as a ‘no-star, semi-experimental epic.’
The film is a ‘re-envisioning’ of Bill Gunn’s 1973 cult horror film Ganja & Hess, about a doctor who develops a thirst for blood after an art curator introduces him to an ancient African artifact.
His thirst for blood eventually consumes his mind and soul and he embarks on a dangerous romantical journey with the curator’s widow.
Da Sweet Blood of Jesus opens in theaters and VOD on February 13.
