Last summer, Kevin Durant changed the landscape of the NBA by leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency to join the Golden State Warriors. While Warriors fan rejoiced, the fans of the Thunder were left with a taste of betrayal and sorrow. The NBA community was also left with some anger, as the criticism for Durant’s decision came full force all season long.
However, Durant seamlessly took on the villain role he was given and thrived in the Warriors system. In the regular season, Durant averaged 25.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, shot 53.7 percent from the floor and 37.5 percent from three.
Subsequently, Durant stays very candid throughout the documentary while talking about his late season injury, adjusting to the bay area, his decision and the Warriors’ championship run. Here’s just a small portion of what Kevin Durant said in his documentary Still KD: Through the Noise.
“I feel like, I’ve been getting bullied [On the Warriors] all here. [People say] I took the easy way out, I don’t deserve nothing.”
“It’s hard to make it to the top of your profession no matter what it is, but it’s easy for people to discredit you.”
