Guardians of the Galaxy has released two new TV spots focusing on the origins of Star-Lord, Gamora and Drax.
The teasers reveal more about the origins of the three Marvel Comics characters played by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista.
The cosmic superhero team also features Rocket Raccoon and Groot, voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel.
The Marvel Studios movie sees the five misfits racing across space to prevent an object of deadly power falling into the hands of the alien Kree warlord Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace).
Karen Gillan, Josh Brolin, Djimon Hounsou, Glenn Close, John C Reilly, Benicio del Toro, Peter Serafinowicz and Nathan Fillion will also feature in the James Gunn-directed film.
Marvel announced this week that Dan Abnett – who along with Andy Lanning established the contemporary version of the team – will be writing new ongoing series Guardians 3000.
Guardians of the Galaxy will be released on August 1.
